Medical Care for International Patients

International patients who have a Japanese public health insurance card

Please refer to our website for appointment at https://oici.jp/hospital/
Consultations in our Institute are available by appointment only; you need to present a referral from a medical facility in your local community.

In order for us to provide smooth, reassuring, and safe medical services, you are requested to use medical interpretation service provided by our designated provider if you have difficulty in receiving consultation in Japanese or if we judge that medical interpretation is needed for communication between you and our staff in consultation. Also, you are requested to submit medical records in Japanese or ones translated into English.

Our Institute has introduced a remote medical interpretation system. Medical interpretation/translation services, etc. are also available for a fee through our affiliated international medical coordinating companies. If you wish to use any of these services, please let us know.

International patients who DO NOT have a Japanese public health insurance card

We accept patients of foreign nationalities who do not have a Japanese public health insurance card and wish to receive medical care, etc. in our Institute, through our exclusively designated international medical coordinating company (for a fee).

The international medical coordinating companies not only help international patients to go on a medical trip to Japan, but also give them various kinds of assistance such as obtaining a medical-stay visa for consultation, applying for acceptance, paying medical fees in place of a patient, arranging an interpreter, translating documents, etc. so that they can receive smooth, reassuring, and safe medical care.

If you wish for consultation, etc. in our Institute, please make an inquiry to the following international medical coordinating companies.
If you are an international patient who searches us through Japan International Hospitals (JIH)*, please contact EAJ for the inquiry.

* JIH is a system where Medical Excellence JAPAN (MEJ) recommends hospitals which met specific criteria to accept international patients wishing for medical care, etc. and disseminates the information useful overseas in cooperation with the Japanese government. Our Institute has been accredited as a JIH-recommended hospital as of April 16, 2021.
